Abstract

The existence of increasingly rapid technological developments has made many
companies, private agencies, and the government increasingly improve their services
to the community or service users so that they can carry out their activities more easily.
One of the improved services is document management services, using an online
Container Terminal (TPK) to make it easier for service users to carry out business
activities and others.
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using an online TPK system in PT
Pelabuhan Indonesia at Makassar Container Terminal in improving service users'
services. The location of this study is in PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia at Makassar
Container Terminal. Data was collected through interviews and documentation, and
then the data was analysed using a descriptive qualitative method with indicators and
assessment stages: input, production process, output, and productivity.
The study results show that the implementation of online TPK in PT. Pelabuhan
Indonesia at Makassar Container Terminal has been very effective, as seen from the
research results through several indicators. The first indicator is that input in online
TPK services does not require many components. Only computers and service user
data are sufficient. The second indicator is the production process which shows
maximum results because it is carried out in accordance with SOPs and is
implemented properly. The third indicator is the output of online TPK services that
make it easier for service users to make reservations, and requests, supervise in real�time supervision, use electronics that are connected to the internet 24 hours and also
can reduce costs. The last assessment indicator is productivity which shows that all
employees or staff of online TPK services are employees who have attended training
in accordance with their respective divisions and tasks so that online TPK can improve
services and income for online TPK users and employees.
